Importing Folders into MetriQ

MetriQ allows the import of root folders using templates. It does this by opening a Comma Separated Value text file listing the root names of all the new folders you wish to create. Then for each root folder named in the text file, MetriQ will build a new folder structure using a predefined template structure.

Importing Folders using templates:
To import any number of root folders, first create a desired folder structure that each of the named root folders will hold.

Using Folder Properties, now update this new folder structure to be a Template. Note: Be sure to check 'Templates' under the 'View Folders By' button drop down options, so that you can see your newly created template structure.

Next, right click in the Folder View panel, and select Use a Template from the context menu.

When the Use a Template dialog window opens, choose File > Import menu option. Navigate to the disk location of your CSV text file that contains the root names of all the folders you wish to import.

Select the file. Set the options in the import window you wish to use and press Okay when done.

MetriQ will then create new folder structures following the defined template for each of the names contained within the CSV.
