MetriQ KB

Cannot connect to the database using Teminal Server/Citrix

Check your connections. The easiest way to configure MetriQ is to run the MetriQ applet from the Control Panel.

Typical Configuration:
Get the correct server name (Control Panel/System Applet/Computer Name tab).

Ensure that you are pointing to a MetriQ database file (on a normal installation this will be in Program Files/MetriQ/DBMQF/IBMetriQ.fdb)

If you still have problems connecting, then the last resort is to hardwire the IP Address Binding parameter in the Firebird configuration file.

IP Address Binding
By default, Firebird is bound to 0.0.0.0 IP address. That mean it will be reachable on all available IP addresses. When you are using Firebird only as a backend to your web application you should bind it to local 127.0.0.1 that makes it unavailable from network. You can change the bind address in firebird.conf:

RemoteBindAddress = 127.0.0.1
