Automated Timing 

Yes: MetriQ automatically times you as you work.  

No: Time sheets require staff to use their time to manually enter start date/time, task, who they are and who the work was for. 

Manual Entry

Hybrid: MetriQ is an automated software time capture product with the ability for time to manually updated in the past/present and future. 

Yes: All time sheet software is manual entry. Restrictions in prior and future entries are product dependent. 

Accurate  

Very High: Because MetriQ has the ability to record time for all software usage, accuracy for time accrued is on a second by second basis. 

Rarely: Any degree of accuracy can only be achieved if used regularly - eg. every 5 or 10 minutes max.

Level of Staff Input

Very Low: The only staff requirement from within MetriQ is for the user to make the correct folder selection before they start to use software opened from within MetriQ.  

Very High: Manual Entry Time Sheet software is 100% user based, as all records must be manually entered.

Very High: One of the interesting usability features we have found with MetriQ is that many staff become addicted to correctly measuring their time. 

Very Low: We have yet to find a single time sheet user who does not hate the manual time sheet process. 

Iconic 

Yes: Modern operating systems are icon based, compared to older systems that were command line based. MetriQ utilizes the latest Windows technology and uses Icons throughout. Icons allow for time data to be managed pro-actively, with cut/paste of time across different Client/Project folders.

No: Time sheet software is record based, meaning each time entry must be manually entered.  

Time Away 

Yes: MetriQ has the ability to record time, even when you are not using your computer, either because you are on the telephone or a colleague interupts you.

No: Most prevalent with on-line time sheets, there is no ability for time sheet software to monitor usage because web pages are static and are unable to measure process activity.

Requires Web Access 

Yes/No: MetriQ is a client application that works independent of the World Wide Web. As such it can be used out of office when web access is not available. However, MetriQ can also be used in conjuction with VPN and remote access via TCP/IP to the MetriQ database. 

Yes: Most time sheet software today is web based and can only be used online. Slow web access means it takes longer to enter a daily time sheet. 

Disbursements 

Yes: MetriQ allows you to enter disbursements across different Client/Project folders. 

Rare: Most time sheet software does not have a disbursement capability. 

Integration 

Yes: MetriQ has the ability to export and import in various formats. 

Yes: However, most solutions have limited import/export capabilities.

Reporting 

Yes: MetriQ comes with a highly comprehensive and detailed reporting Engine with an almost infinite number of data views. 

Yes: However, the granularity of data recorded is limited and does not capture data for specific software usage. 

Charting 

Yes: MetriQ comes complete with its own Charting engine and a choice of over 15 different charting types, include Gantt for real time Project Management. 

Rare: Most time sheet software specialize in driving reports, without much focus on charting the available data. 

Software Usage Statistics

Yes: Because MetriQ times at the software level, software usage statistics are available to isolate time sinks,

No: Time sheet software does not have any data on what software was used, by whom, on what and for how long.

Captures small increments of time 

Yes: The telephone is the most obvious case where MetriQ is able to capture even the shortest of telephone conversations. 

No: If it takes one minutes to enter a time sheet, the a one minute telephone call will invariably be lost in the noise.  

hms or variable unit size 

Yes: MetriQ will allow you to track time in hms or in rounded units which can be varied in size across different cCients.

Yes - but Fixed: Typically Time Sheet software lacks the ability to vary unit size across different Clients
