What is Active Status
To add staff press the Staff
button from MetriQ's main window, or go to Tools > Staff.

Main Buttons:

Add:
For adding a new Staff record to MetriQ. Enter the required
staff details. |

Edit:
To Edit a record, simply make your changes in the text boxes provided.
MetriQ will save your data automatically. |

Delete:
Select a staff record from the listing and press delete. If the
staff is in use with a folder that has timing data, you will be
asked to confirm the deletion. IMPORTANT:
Deletion of a record cannot
be undone. |

Abort: Cancel an insert. |
 |
Archive Staff: MetriQ allows you to archive staff who are no longer active. Archiving is also used when charge-out rates change for a given user (see also Archiving Staff). |

Merging Staff: In conjunction with Archiving Staff, which in effect can split a user into more than one sub-user, Merging staff will allow you to re-join archived staff. Note: Staff on different Roles across different folders will have the one selected role after merging. |

Activate and Deactivate Staff: Use this button to make a Staff Inactive, by forcing their End Date to Yesterday. Conversely, to change the status of a Staff member from Inactive to Active, again press the Activate Button, which will clear that Staff's End Date. |

Select By: Only display selected staff by Last
Name key search. |

Use Notes as a free form text field. |

Details
Tab:
The data fields used for staff
are divided into 5 tabs; Details, Limited User Restrictions (visible only when the user is limited), Address, Contact and Notes.
User Name:
|
User Name is required to open MetriQ. This field is
both unique and mandatory. |
Privileges:
|
An administration level is assigned to each staff added to MetriQ
representing a set of privileges. The default value is "Limited"
(see also Admin Level and User
Folder Properties) |
| First Name: |
First name of the staff. |
Last Name:
|
Last
Name of the staff. |
Password & Confirm Password:
|
Password for the staff. This
is the login password required for a staff to gain access to MetriQ. |
| Start Date: |
Commencement date of staff.
Usually the date a person begins working for the organization, or
the date they were entered into MetriQ. Default is the day the staff
was entered into MetriQ |
| End Date: |
The date a person stops working
for the organization. Once the end date has passed, this user will not be able to gain access to MetriQ. |
| Contract Hours: |
The number of staff contract hours. Default is 40
hours. |
Limited User Restrictions

Note: This tab is only visible for staff that have an administration level Limited. Also note that the Global Set buttons next to each option will allow you to set this value for ALL limited staff, and not just the currently selected staff.
Allow User to see
All Folders: |
When checked, the Limited Access staff is able to see ALL available folders in MetriQ. When left un-checked, the selected staff will only be able to see those folders he/she has been allocated to. See also Admin Level, User Folders, Folder Properties.

| Allow User to Cut/Copy/Paste Icons: |
When checked, the Limited Access staff will be allowed to move icons between different User Folders using the cut/paste metaphor. When un-checked this feature is disabled. |
Allow User to Cut/Paste Icon Time:
|
When checked, the Limited Access staff will be able to move time between icons across different User Folders, using the cut/paste metaphor. When un-checked this feature is disabled. |
Allow User to Add/Delete Icons:
|
Unless this option is checked. the Limited Access staff will not be able to add icons to their assigned folders.
|
Allow User to Administrate Folders: |
When checked, the Limited Access staff will not be able to add new icons to their assigned folders. |
| Allow User access to Reports and Charts: |
When checked, the Limited Access staff will be able to view reports, invoices and charts. However, the scope of availability will depend on:
- View Own Timing Data: Staff will be able to see JUST their own timing data.
- View All Timing Data: Staff will be able to see All available data for all staff.

What is Active Status?
If a staff's End date is before the current date, or his/her Start date
is after the current date, the staff is displayed as INACTIVE.
As such, the text for the inactive staff is displayed in red.
Import Staff Text File: MetriQ
allows staff details to be imported from a text file, using comma delimiters
between each field, and a carriage return between each record. Choose
File > Import > Text File from the Staff Administration
tool menu.
The record format takes the form:
