Staff Administrator with MetriQ Time Tracking Software

Why do we need staff?

Staff are an essential security component within MetriQ. Each staff member has his/her own logon username and ID which must be supplied before they can logon and use the software. Different staff can either have full access to all of MetriQ's features or be limited in what they can and cannot do. For example, you may not wish your staff to be able to view reports, or to see folders for which they have not been assigned (see also Roles).

To start you off, MetriQ comes with a default username, Guest with the password Guest. For security reasons, as soon as you have entered your own staff into MetriQ, this temporary username should be deleted.

Note: MetriQ also comes with an additional user Admin, with the password Admin. If you are new to MetriQ, we strongly recommend you change the administration level of Guest to Limited User, and change the password for both Guest and Admin.

The Staff Administration also has its own password protection to stop unauthorized access to the staff database. This protection is not mandatory, and can be setup from within the Staff Administration tool (see Staff Administration tool). If this security protection is required then it should be activated as soon as MetriQ is installed. No staff need be added to use the staff administration tool and to activate the staff administration's own security.

User Privileges:

MetriQ has 2 levels of privileges, to allow access to different aspects of MetriQ. The staff administration tool is where these privilege levels are set (see also Staff Administration Levels).
