Simple Gantt Chart Example:
To create a Gantt Chart, first open the reporting tool. Select the Timing Folders Tab. Now filter the data for a range of data that you wish to present. Important: As we are going to use date data, make sure you check Date Label and Date Value from the selection Tab. You can of course also filter by date and choose Year, Month, week or day to further refine your chart. As we are graphing against time, in this instance choose Est. Start and Est. End dates fields from the selection box.
Now open the Chart Builder. Choose the Gantt Chart. From the Labels drop down, choose the field Chart Label; For the Start drop down box, choose Est. Start Date, and for the End date choose Est. End Date.
Finally, if you wish to join each of the Gantt bars up, first select one Gantt bar, and while holding the CTRL key pressed, select another Gantt bar. A line should appear and join the two Gantt bars together. Note: It's important that you click the flat face of the Gantt bar when doing the joining.
