"Remember
that Time is Money".
Most especially in business, the counting
or measurement of time represents a one to one correspondence to the outlay
of money. When you purchase an apple, you are not purchasing a piece of
fruit. Rather you are purchasing the time for the orchard owner to harvest
the apple, time to ship it to a warehouse, and from there to the supermarket.
You are paying for the cost of transportation, not the oil the feeds the
trucks, but the time for the oil company to pump it out of the ground,
refine it, and finally get it into the tanks of the vehicles that use
it. You are only ever paying for time and nothing else. There is nothing
that breaks this dependence on time - everywhere along the trail of production
and services, time is the commodity that is ultimately being paid for.
In addition, time has a quantitative
value, be it already consumed or yet to be consumed. The ability for a
business to know exactly how time is consumed for a task allows that business
to present a true and correct formulation of cost to their clients, as
well as help manage and predict their own costs more accurately for future
tasks. In addition, knowing precisely how and where time is consumed,
can help managers streamline their own internal processes and so drive
a more efficient process/cost model.
MetriQ is a management environment with
a patent pending real-time
measurement facility to help managers and forecasters, planners and businesses,
calculate the volume of time spent on a task or collection of tasks. In
so doing, MetriQ will also help evaluate where time is being spent, and
in what directions cost specialists should look to help reduce the time
used, and so increase productivity. It will help businesses isolate lost
time, and help clients achieve a fair tracking of where their pennies
are spent.
All time measurements within MetriQ
are contained within a highly structured environment, allowing for the
measurement of time consumption for each task, and a comparison of time
consumption against other tasks.
