Populating
the User Folder Icon Panel in MetriQ
|

| 2 |
Choose the folder that you
are going to work on (see also
Folders). |

|
Continue adding the software, documents and Timed Events that you will need to work on the selected folder. You can add more software, documents and Timed Events at any time, provided the User Folder has not been previously locked (see Folder Profiles).
Notes:
| 1 |
Files
added to each folder are unique. So files added to one User Folder,
will not appear in a different User Folder unless specifically
added. |
| 2 |
Files added
to each User Folder are dependant on the user. Changing to a different
user and opening the same User Folder will show a different selection
of files to that of the previous user. |
| 3 |
Files added
to each User Folder are computer dependent. As each timing icon
represents an underlying software package or file with a specific
disk location, moving to another machine cannot guarantee those
same software packages or files will exist or have the same physical
hard drive location. As such, opening MetriQ on a different machine
when in client Server mode, will not show the same software packages
in any given sub-task. In this instance, MetriQ has the ability
to share icons. To share an icon, right
click the mouse over the icon, and open the Icon's property Sheet
(Icon
Property Sheet). Check the Share With All
Users option. Other users now logging onto MetriQ
will, if the icon exists in the same disk location, receive the
same shared icon, in the same folder. |
Networked Files: MetriQ is quite at home working with files across the network. Use the explorer tool that opens when you press the New button on the User Folder to select the required file. For example, if you wish to use a file name SomeFile.txt located on a server called SomeServer, in a directory called SomeDirectory, you can do one of the following:
1. Computers Near Me\SomeServer\Some Directory\SomeFile.txt
Or for mapped files:
2. My Computer choose drive Some Directory on 'SomeServer'(w:)\SomeFile.txt
(In the properties of each icon, method
1 will have a path name w:\Some Directory\someFile.txt, and method 2 will
have \\SomeServer\\Some Directory\SomeFile.txt)
