The Folder Wizard allows you to quickly
create a new Folder or User Folder by keying in the least needed data
required for correctly setting up a folder. (see also Folder
Overview). Access to the wizard comes either from right clicking
on an existing node and selecting New/Folder Wizard, from right clicking
in the Folder View anywhere BUT on an existing Folder, (this will create
a new top level Folder or User Folder), or by pressing the Wizard button
on the MetriQ button toolbar. In essence the wizard page contains the
same information as the Folder Property page (see also Folder
Properties) and can be changed at any time.
When opening the wizard, choosing to
create a new Folder will open one page of settings. Choosing to create
a new User Folder will open 2 pages of settings.

Page 2. (New User Folders ONLY):
| Staff Assignment Plan: |
The
staff assignment plan lets you assign different roles to each member
of staff. For regular users of MetriQ, this can either be done here
on the property page, when the User Folder is first created (see
Folder Wizard), or left
empty and auto-assigned when the very first icon is run from within
a User Folder (see also Ask
For a Role).
However if you have staff that
have a 'User' status (see also Staff),
and those staff do NOT have 'Can See All' checked (see also Staff),
then you MUST pre-assign staff using the Staff Assignment Plan.
Failing to do this will mean that these 'Users' will not be able
to see any of the Folders that you have created.
In addition to the above, if you
wish to use a budget dollar value to calculate the estimated end
date or conversely, given and estimated start/end date calculate
the budget, you must do so having first allocated staff and roles
using the Staff Assignment Plan.
To use the Staff Assignment Plan,
select the Staff in the right hand panel by checking their associated
check box. Choose the appropriate Role from the drop down menu,
and click the Assign Role button. Repeat assigning different staff
with different roles. Note: each
staff can have only ONE role per User Folder. |
| Use Start/End Dates: |
Elect to use Start and End dates. |
| Start Date: |
The expected
Start Date of the User Folder. |
| End Date: |
The
expected End Date of the User Folder.
Note:
You cannot enter a Start or End date that falls outside of the days
specified by the Folder Profile's (see also Folder
Profiles) settings for Work Days or Holidays created in the
Options page (see also Holiday
Options). |
Time Budget:
(Estimated Time) |
The time a Project Folder is expected
to last for. Use the "Link Dates to Estimated Time" check
box option if you would like End Date to be relative to the Estimated
Time. Note: Estimated time is calculated by knowing the length of
a Work Day (see Folder Profiles)
and the number of days in the working week (see Folder
Profiles). Holidays are excluded from the calculation (see Holiday
Options). |
| Disbursement Budget: |
Estimated disbursement
cost for the lifetime of the folder. |
| Charge-Out Budget: |
Estimated Costs
for the lifetime of the folder. Costs are calculated on the Estimated
time multiplied by the total number of staff billing costs per hour.
So, for 2 staff assigned to folder, one at $10/hour the other at
$20/hour - the total costs will be the estimated time*30. |
| Link Time With Costs: |
When checked,
updating costs will also update estimated time and vice-vera. |
| Folder is Billable: |
When a User Folder
is 'Billable', it can contain timing icons that are BOTH billable
and non-billable. When non-billable, the User Folder can ONLY contain
non-billable timing icons. |
