Hiding the User Folder Panel with MetriQ Time Tracking Software

If you work with a constant set of icons, you may find it advantageous to use the Shrink To Show Folder button to minimize the MetriQ screen, and hide the User Folder/Icon Panel. Ordinarily, if your timing icons are already open, there is no need to see the User Folder/Icon Panel, but of course there is still a requirement to move between different folders. Using this button, valuable desktop real estate can be used for the application you are actually working on, while still allowing you to comfortably use MetriQ to time your work.

Lets keep time

When the User Folder/Panel Panel is hidden, MetriQ's window will stay on top of all other applications and can be varied in transparency using the Visibility Fader as shown. In Figure 2 MetriQ sits on top of Photoshop while the graphic artist manipulates a screen shot image of MetriQ sitting on top of Photoshop, to produce the image you now see.

Use your timesheets

Note: The Stay On Top feature is disabled when the slider bar is at its maximum (no fading) and the Folder View is fully opaque.

Use the Swap Folder/Icon Panel to move your Timing Folder to be either on the left hand side of the screen or the right hand side of the screen.

Why would you use this feature?
Consider you are graphic artist, using a package called Twirl. You want to be able to use MetriQ in its minimized form (as detailed above), so that you can quickly and easily change to different client folders, but without having to see the icons that belong to each folder. As it happens, Twirl has all its major controls for drawing, sizing etc, on the left hand side of the screen. This means that you don't really want MetriQ on the default left hand side of the screen covering up the controls to your graphics package. In this instance, you'd use the Swap Folder/Icon Panel button. Now, when you open MetriQ from its minimized state back to normal (so you can again see your icons), MetriQ accommodates by expanding from Left to Right, instead of the usual Right to Left.
