Add a New Icon Alert:
When you open a software application or file in one folder, you DO NOT need to re-open the same application/file in a different folder. Instead, MetriQ automatically detects that you've moved to another folder and will automatically continue timing your use of the software against the newly selected User Folder.
However, if there is no Icon associated with the application/file running, then MetriQ will open the Add a New Icon window (Figure 1), and will prompt you to either:
Return Home: That is, let MetriQ take you back to the original folder this icon was originally opened from (see also the status bar of this window to identify the return home path).
Or
Add Icon: When this option is selected, MetriQ will automatically add a new Icon to the currently selected User Folder and will continue timing your use of this application/file against this new User Folder. The essence here is that when you move to another user folder while working on an application/file opened through MetriQ, you do not need to either add an icon to that new folder or re-open the software as MetriQ takes care of this for you automatically.

Folder Change Alert:
When moving to a different Folder for which an Icon that corresponds to the current application or file in use, then again MetriQ will prompt you to:
Return Home: MetriQ will return you to the User Folder where this application/file was originally opened from.
OR
Remain Here: When this option is selected, MetriQ will transfer timing for the Application/File currently in use, to the appropriate icon on the currently selected User Folder. Note: If you check the option 'Always use "Remain Here" as default", then whenever you move from one User Folder to another while using a specific application/file, the Folder Change Alert screen will NOT show. Instead the default action taken will always be that of Remain Here. To uncheck this option at any time, and again have visibility to this Alert window, open MetriQ's main Options and check "Hide Folder Change Alert Window when moving across folders"

Multiple Instance Warning:
If you have opened more than one instance of an application/file on different folders (Note: MetriQ will not allow you to open more than one instance of the same software on the same folder), then as you move between folders that hold these running instances, MetriQ will flag a Multiple Instance Warning (as shown in Figure 3) if you try to use the application/file opened from another User Folder, but for which an instance of that application/file is currently running on the newly selected User Folder.
Options:
Return Home: When selected, MetriQ will return to the home of the current instance in focus.
Remain Here: When selected, MetriQ will transfer timing from the instance opened on the previously selected User Folder to the instance running on the currently selected folder.
