Timed Events allow users to add timing icons
to their folder for actions that do not have application/file equivalents.
e.g. phone calls, meetings, lunch break - whatever task that does not
have an actual application/file icon.
To create a new Timed Event, select
a User Folder and press the Timed Event button on the User Folder Panel
(see also User Folder
Panel Task Bar), and the Timed Event
creation tool will open.
Type a name for the Timed Event and select the type of icon you prefer OR use the pull down list to choose from a range of Timed Events already entered into MetriQ. Press Okay when done, and a new Timed Event Icon will appear on your currently selected User Folder, which you can double click to run at any time.
Timed Event Housekeeping
You can create as many pre-named Timed Events as you please, each with their own associated icon. To create a new Timed Event, press the button. You will be asked to supply a new and unique Timed Event name. Now would also be a good time to choose an icon that you would like to pictorially represent this Timed Event when placed on the MetriQ desktop. Press Okay when done.
To edit a timed event, first select the event you wish to change, from the drop-down selection box. Press the and MetriQ will take you to an edit window where you can change both the name and image of the selected Timed Event. To delete a Timed Event simply press the button.
Note: All Timed Events
default with Timeout Immunity selected as ON (see also User
Folder Profile).
In addition a timed event can have the
following settings:
Set Duration Period:
Set the days, hours and minutes this timing icon
is to remain active for.
Bleep When Done: MetriQ
will bleep when the Timed Event has finished, allowing you to use the
Timed Event as an alarm.
Persistence: Use can also use the Persistence button to switch Persistence on directly from this window.
