Creating a Folder for Users with Limited Privileges

This simple tutorial will take you through all the necessary steps required to add limited staff to a new Folder. In addition, this tutorial will show you another way to add icons to your new folder.

Logon:

Logon to MetriQ using a Full administrator account name.

Add new Staff:

Press the Staff button Lets live a timesheet solution(opens the Staff Administration tool) and add your new staff members. Choose Limited for their Administration privilege. Close when done.

Create a new Folder:

From the main MetriQ window:
Press the Wizard Button Enterprise timesheet program and select Top Level Folder menu option.

Fill in the Folder Wizard:

In the Wizard:
Type in a name for your new Folder, and an ID if applicable. Press Next.
In the The Staff Assignment Plan select the name of the Limited users you have just added. Select a Role. Press the Assign button. The selected staff have now been assigned that Role. You may also create new roles or edit your current roles by pressing the Role button from this screen (see also Roles).
Press Finish to close.

Logon: Logon on as one of the new staff you have just created. You must do this before you can add any Icons, as each icon is unique to the Staff member, the folder and the computer being used.
Press Okay to close this screen and complete the logon process*.
Add an Icon:

Select the Folder you wish to add icons to.
Select an Icon from your Windows Desktop or Task bar. Keeping your left button pressed, drag
the icon onto the right hand panel on the MetriQ window and release
your button. A new Icon for this application will appear, ready for you to open.

Note: Not all applications/files can be added to MetriQ. Windows Explorer for example cannot be added. However, you can use the Enterprise timesheet application Add New Application to add new icons to your Folder. Additionally, you can also prevent certain types of files, for example system files, from ever being added to MetriQ (see also File Exemptions)

Double click the icon you have now added, and timing will begin.


* As an administrator, you can ensure that all Limited staff have the same icons by using the Search for other Users' 'Shared' Icons at logon. This switch in the Options screen (see also Options) allows you to populate this user's machine with your own icons provided you have tagged that icon as being 'Shared' (see also Icon Properties).
