How does MetriQ differ in Microsoft
Vista?
Running MetriQ in the Microsoft operating
system 'Vista', requires a number of minor changes, detailed below:
1. MetriQ can only be run as an elevated
application.
Because MetriQ integrates into the operating system, key functionality
can only be achieved if MetriQ is run as an elevated program. This means
that if you are a standard user, then you will be prompted for the credentials
of an Administrator. If you are an Administrator, then MetriQ will prompt
you for consent before the program runs. However, in both scenarios, icons
launched from the MetriQ desktop will not require either credentials or
consent prompting.
2. MetriQ can no longer drag and drop
directly from explorer or the windows Desktop. Instead, a new 'portal'
window has been created onto which you can drag your icons. The portal
will communicate with MetriQ and add the icons that you have dragged onto
the portal.
To open the Drag/Drop Portal press the
button shown in Figure 1.

The Drag/Drop Portal will then open as shown
in Figure 2.

You many now drag/drop your icons onto this
portal window, and MetriQ will automatically incorporate them into the
selected User Folder.
